JACK FINISHES AS ENGLAND’S JOINT SECOND HIGHEST RUN-SCORER

jack haynes finished as england’s joint second highest run-scorer at the 2020 icc under-19 world cup despite missing two matches through illness.

the worcestershire batsman ended with a tally of 138 runs from his four innings at an average of 34.50 and a strike rate of 77.96.

haynes, who celebrated his 19th birthday during the competition, ended with a top score of 68 in the plate final against sri lanka at benoni.

the former malvern college pupil finished level on 138 runs with kent’s jordan cox who achieved that total in six knocks.

england’s leading run-scorer was warwickshire’s dan mousley with 241 in five innings at an average of 80.33

haynes will now return to New Road as worcestershire continue preparations for the forthcoming campaign.
