HOSE FINISHES AS RAPIDS TOP SCORER WITH BROWN LEADING WICKET-TAKER

Adam Hose finished the Vitality Blast group stages as Worcestershire Rapids leading run-scorer in his first season at New Road.

Hose was one of four Rapids players to top 300 runs in the North Group from which they have qualified for Friday’s quarter-final with Hampshire Hawks at the Ageas Bowl.

He was a consistent performer throughout the 14 matches, hitting two half centuries and ending with 397 runs at an average of 44.11 and a strike rate of 147.58.

Mitchell Santner (391), Club Captain Brett D’Oliveira (368) and Jack Haynes (353) were not far behind Hose.

The Rapids batting power enabled them to hit two of their highest ever T20 scores with 226-5 against Notts Outlaws at Trent Bridge their second best and 222—5 versus Derbyshire at the Incora County Ground their joint fifth best performance.

On the bowling front, Pat Brown will head into the knockout stages on 24 scalps, his best tally in the Blast since his 31 in the Rapids 2018 title success.

Usama Mir finished with 17 victims in his first taste of the tournament after initially deputising for Santner when on IPL duty and then returning to replace Michael Bracewell after his achilles injury.

D’Oliveira chipped in with 15 wickets while Santner also impressed with the ball and was the most economical of the Rapids regular bowlers, conceding just 7.34 runs per over.
