HEAD COACH UPDATE ON INJURIES TO JACK HAYNES AND PAT BROWN

Worcestershire CCC Head Coach Alex Gidman has given an update on the injuries to batsman Jack Haynes and pace bowler Pat Brown.

Gidman, speaking after the LV=Insurance County Championship game against Durham, said: “Sadly, Jack looks like he is going to be missing for a while with an ankle injury.

“We don’t know the exact details yet, but we think it is quite serious. He has had the scans, but they will be looked at in more detail by the club doctor.

“I don’t know any more news than that, but it is a serious injury, so it is unlikely Jack will be involved for the foreseeable future. It’s a blow.

“Jack was desperate to keep playing in all formats. He has done very well when he played and looked like a firm position for us in the T20 and 50 over competition as well.

“It is a real shame for him, but sadly it is something he is going to have to deal with. I’m sure he will find some positives in that time to come back a better player for us.”

Gidman added: “Pat Brown won’t be available for the first few games of the Blast. His back has flared up a little bit, so he needs some more time fixing that.

“Those two guys will be unavailable for the beginning of the Blast at the very least.”
