Jack Haynes will fly out to the Caribbean on Wednesday with his England Under-19 team-mates to prepare for the Tri-Series against the West Indies and Sri Lanka.
The Worcestershire batsman is looking to cement a place in his country’s squad for the ICC World Cup but also to impress sufficiently to be part of the starting line-up in South Africa in the New Year.
Haynes was England’s leading run-scorer in this summer’s Tri-Series against Bangladesh and India before enjoying a run of five first class matches for Worcestershire to conclude the season.
England’s opening warm-up game is on Sunday (December 1) against an Antigua X1 at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, Antigua.
The same opponents will also provide the opposition at the same venue on December 3.
England’s opening Tri-Series match is also at the Coolidge Cricket Ground on Friday, December 6 versus Sri Lanka Under-19s.
Haynes and England have prepared for the series with fitness and technical sessions at the National Sports Centre, Loughborough.
But in addition they experienced a team-building camp in the Lake District which included hiking and canoeing.
