EMILY ARLOTT NAMED IN PCA WOMEN’S TEAM OF THE YEAR FOR SECOND SEASON RUNNING

Worcestershire Women’s Rapids, Central Sparks and Birmingham Phoenix pace bowler, Emily Arlott, has been named in the 2022 Vitality PCA Women’s Team Of The Year for the second year running.

Arlott and the other members of the team have been selected through the PCA Most Valuable Player Rankings as part of an ultimate X1 from this season’s domestic women’s cricket.

She is one of five players who were also part of the 2021 Team Of The Year alongside Lauren Bell, Emma Lamb, Bryony Smith and captain Georgia Adams.

Arlott played a key part in the Women’s Rapids winning the ECB T20 County Cup Group Two, before going onto enjoy more success with the Sparks and Birmingham Phoenix.

She had the most bowling points in the MVP – 114 – and amassed 181 points in total.

Arlott picked up 15 wickets for Central Sparks at an average of 22.5 and nine in The Hundred for Birmingham Phoenix at 11.1.

The MVP Rankings is the decisive statistical indication of player performance with the side based on their impact throughout domestic cricket in 2022.

Captained by the individual with the most MVP points across the season, the player of the competition across each format is also included based on their outstanding performances.

Adams, the Southern Vipers skipper also leads the Vitality PCA Women’s Team of the Year having won the PCA Women’s Domestic Overall MVP award, finishing with 281 points.

The cinch PCA Awards takes place at The Hurlingham Club on Thursday 6 October where the best performing players of domestic and international cricket will be recognised.

Arlott and all players selected in the 2022 Vitality PCA Women’s Team of the Year will receive a personalised winner’s medal from Mappin & Webb.
