EDAVALATH SCORES UNBEATEN CENTURY FOR YOUNG LIONS AT LOUGHBOROUGH

Worcestershire CCC batter, Rehaan Edavalath, scored an unbeaten century for Young Lions ‘B’ against Young Lions ‘A’ in the ‘Best v Best’ three-day match at the National Performance Centre, Loughborough.

Edavalath continued in the superb form he has demonstrated for Worcestershire Academy and Seconds this summer.

He batted number four in the Lions B first innings and struck 101 not out from 122 balls with 11 fours in an excellent conclusion to the season.

Edavalath completed his century with a clip for four through mid wicket and added 143 for the third wicket with Aadi Sharma (94) before the declaration at 392-3.

He did not bat in the second innings and a thrilling conclusion saw Young Lions A chase down a 371 target and win by one wicket.

Edavalath has signed his first professional rookie contract at New Road and it will get underway from October 1.

Fellow Worcestershire player, Reeve Evitts, also featured in the game at Loughborough for Young Lions A. He bowled 6.2 overs for 32 runs in the first innings and had scores of five not out and four.
