EDAVALATH HITS THIRD CENTURY IN A WEEK AS BARNARDS GREEN TRIUMPH

Rehaan Edavalath scored his third century in a week to help Barnards Green to a 170 run victory over Kidderminster in a Birmingham and District Premier League Premier Division fixture.

Edavalath had made 105 in the previous BPL match versus Knowle and Dorridge and then 131 for Worcestershire Seconds in the innings Championship win over Gloucestershire Seconds.

Against Kidderminster, he batted through the innings to finish undefeated on 138 in a total of 293-3 from 55 overs.

He hit three sixes and 14 fours in his 171 ball knock and added 134 for the third wicket with former Worcestershire batter George Rhodes.

The 19-year-old is making his senior Worcestershire debut in the current LV=Insurance County Championship match with Derbyshire at new Road.

Kidderminster were dismissed for 113 in 35.1 overs.

Academy player Ollie Walker struck a half century for Himley as they defeated Bromsgrove by 157 runs.

Walker’s 61-ball fifty contained six fours as Himley totalled 245-8 and then bowled out their opponents for 88 in 36.2 overs.

Another current Academy player in Harry Darley returned 3-51 and scored 41 but his side Shrewsbury were bowled out for 249 and went down by 60 runs to Moseley (309).

Henry Cullen contributed 30 to Kenilworth Wardens 377-9 and then Josh Baker dismissed top scorer Ethan Brookes (65) when Knowle and Dorridge replied with 326-8.

Taylor Cornall made a double breakthrough with the ball but Ombersley (202-5) lost by four wickets to Wolverhampton.
