EARLY BREAKTHROUGH FOR FINCH AS YOUNG LIONS TAKE COMMAND

Adam Finch made an early breakthrough as England Young Lions took control on day two of the second ‘Test’ with Bangladesh Under-19s in Chittagong.

The Worcestershire paceman quickly struck after Bangladesh launched their reply to the Young Lions first innings total of 337 all out.

Finch took the new ball and had opener Amite Hasan (4) caught behind with just nine runs on the board.

The 18-year-old ended the day with figures of 14.4-3-49-1.

Bangladesh were in deep trouble at 84-5 at one stage before Mahmudul Hasan Joy (62 not out) and Shahadat Hossain (56) added 110 – a partnership that was broken in the final over of the day.

The home side closed on 194-6 from 68 overs.

Finch and the Young Lions will be looking to press home their side’s advantage as they strive to square the series and secure their first win of the tour.

Finch batted at number 11 and ended nought not out in England’s first innings.
