Worcestershire keeper-batter, Henry Cullen, has become only the second player this winter to top 500 runs in the South Australian Cricket Association Premier Cricket first grade competition.
The 21-year-old is averaging a superb 84.67 for Woodville since linking up with them in October after continuing the form with which he climaxed the 2024 season with Worcestershire Seconds.
Cullen scored 234 against Northamptonshire Seconds – the highest ever individual score by a Worcestershire batter in the Second Eleven Championship.
He has followed that up with a series of superb performances and his half century against Southern District took him past that 500 mark.
Only East Torrens batter, Ryan King, 617 at 88.14. has struck more runs in the tournament than Cullen.
He has been a model of consistency with one century and four fifties and several other telling knocks and has played a major role in all Woodville’s victories.
Cullen hit 125 not out against Northern Districts, 97 and 64 not out versus East Torrens, an unbeaten 66 off the Prospect attack and 61 when facing Southern District.
Himself and King are well clear of the next three highest run-scorers in 336- Kane Halfpenny (SACA Under-19s), 320 – Ryan Dimasi (Northern Districts) and 320 – Lachlan Murphy (Southern District).
