Ben Twohig picked key wickets and helped bring about a spectacular collapse on the second day of Southern Districts encounter with Sturt in the South Australia Cricket Association first grade.
The Worcestershire CCC spinner dismissed Sturt number three and captain-wicket-keeper Brad Davis – who has appeared for South Australia – after he had scored 70.
Twohig also sent back Thomas Kelly (20) who had added 51 for the third wicket with Davis and taken Sturt to 110-2 in reply to Southern Districts 265 all out from 103.1 overs
For good measure Twohig then accounted for Max Parker (2) as he and Sunam Gautam (6-25) bowled out Sturt for 123 in 60.4 overs.
Twohig finished with figures of 21-5-55-3 and also claimed the only scalp when Sturt batted again.
He dismissed William Faulkner (0) before Jacob Dick’s unbeaten hundred lifted Sturt to 145-1 by the close.
Twohig ended with 1-56 and Southern Districts claimed 15 points and Sturt eight points.
His County colleague, Josh Dell, spent the day in the field for Mosman CC as Western Suburbs totalled 317-9 from 96 over son day one of the New South Wales second grade fixture.
