Worcestershire paceman Adam Finch has been shortlisted for the Professional Young Sportsperson Of The Year Award at this evening’s Birmingham Sports Awards.
Finch represented England at this winter’s ICC Under-19s World Cup in New Zealand and played in three matches, sharing the new ball in the final game with County team-mate Dillon Pennington.
He was also part of the squad in this summer’s ‘Test’ and ODI Series against South Africa Under-19s.
Wordsley-born Finch broke into the Worcestershire Second Eleven last summer and impressed when taking 5-19 against a strong Yorkshire side in the Championship match at RGS Worcester.
The 18-year-old has also been included in the County’s first team squad on a couple of occasions this summer for the first time.
This award is open to young sportspersons across any discipline who are up to the age of 18 and compete full-time as a professional.
Showing great potential for the future, the winner will be an incredible young athlete. All applicants will have displayed an outstanding level of personal achievement at district, county, regional, national or international level.
The awards presentation dinner will take place at Edgbaston Cricket Ground.
