COUNTY FAST BOWLER PENNINGTON CELEBRATES FIRST WIN WITH ADELAIDE

Worcestershire fast bowler, Dillon Pennington, is celebrating his first win with Adelaide CC after helping them defeat Southern District by 164 runs in a SACA Premier Cricket first grade encounter at the Glandore Oval.

Pennington made the crucial early breakthrough during the closing phase of day one after Adelaide had amassed 406-9 declared.

He then battled way on a flat pitch on day two, having several edges fall just fall of the wicket-keeper or slip cordon.

Pennington’s persistence was finally rewarded when he wrapped up the innings in having Vish Rathore (1) caught behind.

He ended with 2-68 as Southern District were bowled out for 242 in 84 overs as Adelaide completed a second win of the season.

Pennington also took a catch at silly mid on and was part of a fine team effort in which the wickets were shared amongst six bowlers.

The 22-year-old now has an overall analysis of 52-6-240-11 at an average of 21.82 for Adelaide and has taken a wicket ever 28.36 deliveries.

Worcestershire batsman, Jack Haynes, made 16 off 18 balls with two boundaries after opening for Green Point CC in their Western Province Premier Division encounter with Claremont.

His side won by six wickets after chasing down a 166 target with 12.4 overs to spare.
