COUNTY CHAIRMAN CLOCKS UP KILOMETRES IN AID OF MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT

Worcestershire CCC Club Chairman, Fanos Hira, is clocking up the kilometres in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Support.

Fanos is participating in the Macmillan 10 Day 5K Challenge, and on Tuesday he will complete the penultimate stage with the donations flooding in.

His original target when setting out on the first of the 10 five kilometres runs – to be completed on successive days – last Monday (November 16) was £450.

This figure was reached and then overtaken after the completion of stage eight.

Macmillan Cancer Support provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer.

It also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have and campaigns for better cancer care.

Fanos said: “I’m doing this because we all sadly know too many people that have been impacted by this horrible illness.

“Also because I’m lucky enough, (hopefully!), to be able to do so and I’m grateful for all the donations.

“Hopefully this will help raise awareness, raise funds and it’s been great to set myself a challenge during lockdown.”
