Worcestershire CCC Academy will hope to launch their 2018 programme on Saturday when – weather permitting – they visit Birmingham Premier League side Moseley for a one-day friendly.
The two teams had been drawn against each other in the first round of the BPL’s Graham Williamson Trophy.
But the pre-season competition has been called off for 2018 because of the recent inclement weather.
The start of the 2018 BPL programme – which often features many Worcestershire CCC players – has been put back a week because of the elements until April 28.
The games that had originally been scheduled for April 21 will instead take place on August 27 – the Bank Holiday Monday.
Academy Coach Elliot Wilson’s side had been due to take part in a three-day festival at Shrewsbury School this week.
But the first two days of scheduled cricket were cancelled because of the weather and now a one-day fixture on Friday has suffered the same fate after yesterday’s downpours.
