BROWN HELPS ST. AUGUSTINE TO VICTORY IN LOW-SCORING ENCOUNTER

🇿🇦 Pat Brown – St. Augustine CC, South Africa

Pat Brown contributed with ball and bat to help St. Augustine to a four wicket win over Edgemead in a low-scoring Western Province Cricket Association encounter.

The Worcestershire pace bowler took the new ball and picked up an early wicket as Edgemead were dismissed for 95 in 29.3 overs after being put into bat.

St. Augustine also struggled for runs and were 67-6 when Brown came to the wicket.

But he ensured there were no more setbacks and scored 12 not out in an unbroken stand of 28 with Wayne Martin (14 not out) to see their side over the finishing line.

🇿🇦 Gareth Roderick – Green Point CC, South Africa

Green Point captain, Gareth Roderick, was unavailable for his side’s 98 run defeat against Ottoman through illness.

🇦🇺 Henry Cullen – Plenty Valley CC, Australia

Henry Cullen’s side, Plenty Valley CC, went down by three wickets to Preston CC on day two of the Victoria Cricket Association fixture.

Cullen had scored 24 of Plenty Valley’s 252-7 on day one and his side reduced their opponents to 67-3 and then 168-6 in reply.

The Worcestershire keeper-batter also caught Preston top scorer, Greg Maratos, for 105, at 204-7 but that was Plenty Valley’s last breakthrough.

Cullen also featured for Plenty Valley in two Victoria Cricket Association T20 matches.

He contributed 44 off 39 balls with one six and five fours in a nine run defeat against St. Bernard’s CC and was dismissed for 12 in the tied game against Kew CC.

🇦🇺 Taylor Cornall & Dillon Pennington – Adelaide CC , Australia

Taylor Cornall and Dillon Pennington were part of the Adelaide side beaten by nine wickets in the two-day South Australia Cricket Association Premier Cricket meeting with Kensington played over both days of this weekend.

Cornall (25) and Tejas Gill (40) put on 60 for Adelaide’s first wicket after they had been put into bat but, once they had been parted, their side collapsed to 103 all out.

Pennington struck with the new ball, dismissing Henry Hunt (5), and returned to account for Jake Brown in a Kensington total of 197-5.

He had final figures of 10-3-34-2.

But Adelaide were bowled out for 179 in their second innings, setting their opponents only 86 to win with Pennington delivering six overs for 13 runs.

🇦🇺 Adam Finch – Sturt CC, Australia

Adam Finch’s side, Sturt CC, had a bye this weekend but will return to South Australian Cricket Association action next weekend.

🇦🇺 Ben Gibbon – Willetton CC, Australia

Ben Gibbon’s side, Willetton, held the upper hand after day one of the two-day fixture with Subiaco-Floreat on which 15 wickets fell.

Willetton were bowled out for 163 after winning the toss and then Subiaco-Floreat replied with 56-5 with Gibbon bowling five tidy overs for 11 runs. 

But Gibbon and his team-mates went down by 10 wickets to Bayswater-Morley in the semi-finals of the WACA one-day competition after being bowled out for 50.
