Azhar Ali will be part of the Worcestershire Seconds side in action at New Road against Glamorgan Seconds in a SET20 Cup encounter on Tuesday (11.30am start).
The Pakistan star returns to the middle to get in some match practice ahead of Sunday’s LV=Insurance County Championship match with Sussex at Hove.
Azhar is in line to open the innings as part of a strong-looking line-up alongside Taylor Cornall.
Keeper-batter Gareth Roderick, all-rounder Matthew Waite and pace bowler Ben Gibbon, who have also been regular members of the Championship side this summer, are also set to face their Welsh opponents.
But the 12-strong squad, in addition, includes rookie professionals Olly Cox, Rehaan Edavalath and Henry Cullen, who has, played several important knocks in the T20 competition.
Academy players Cameron Jones, Ben Clarke and Joe Stanley have also been named and will benefit from the experience of playing at New Road.
Entry to New Road for this fixture is free, and gates will open at 10.30am
