ARLOTT AND MACEY SCOOP WOMEN’S RAPIDS 2019 HONOURS

Pace bowler Emily Arlott capped her return after a serious injury to be crowned Worcestershire Women’s Rapids Players’ Player Of The Year.

Arlott suffered a freak ankle dislocation during the winter programme but she recovered to play in all the Rapids league games.

She accounted for many top order batters with one of the highlights being the dismissal of New Zealand international Rachel Priest.

Arlott ended the campaign with 19 wickets at an average of 19.09 from 14 games and also chipped in with useful lower order runs.

Worcestershire Cricket Board cricket development director, Tom Hill, handed out the award when the County staged their 2019 Awards Evening in the Chestnut Marquee.

The Women’s Rapids Coaches’ Player Of The Year went to batter and captain Georgie Macey.

She was the Rapids leading scorer for the 2019 campaign and topped the half century mark on three occasions.

Macey, in her first season with the Rapids, led them to five victories out of their 13 completed fixtures.
