ACADEMY PLAYER DAVIDSON CONTINUES IMPRESSIVE FORM IN UNDER-19S WORLD CUP

Worcestershire CCC Academy player, Oliver Davidson, continued his impressive form for Scotland in the ICC Under-19 World Cup during the encounter with Australia in Basseterre.

Davidson made 33 during an opening stand of 88 as Scotland totalled 236-8 after being put into bat.

He then picked up the first two Australian wickets to fall with his spin and ended with excellent figures of 10-0-45-2 split into three spells.

His efforts followed on from taking two wickets and scoring 15 versus Sri Lanka and then top-scoring with 43 and collecting another scalp against the West Indies.

Davidson and Charlie Tear laid the foundations of Scotland’s total against Australia in a stand spanning 19.3 overs.

He hit four fours in his 57 ball knock before being first out and then Tear and Tomas Mackintosh both scored 54.

Davidson ended an opening stand of 101 between Teague Wyllie and Campbell Kellaway by trapping the latter lbw for 47 with the second delivery of his second spell.

He then bowled Aidan Cahill for 72 during his penultimate over before Wyllie (101 not out) saw Australia to a seven wicket win in 39.5 overs.
