Worcestershire Academy will again be competing in the Birmingham Premier Cricket League Graham Williamson Trophy this summer.
They have been drawn away to Shrewsbury for the second year running in the first round of the 50 overs a side tournament.
Last season’s encounter was a dramatic affair with both sides scoring 169-8 and then the Academy defeating the Shrews 3-2 in a bowl-out before losing to Walsall in the quarter-finals.
Matches are to be played on April 11 (12.30pm start).
If the Academy are successful in that fixture, they will face another trip in the second round to face the winners of the Dorridge v Shifnal encounter.
This will be the fourth year in a row that Worcestershire – and also Warwickshire CCC Academy – have entered the competition.
It provides valuable experience for the County’s crop of youngsters in an early season competitive environment.
The draw for the first two rounds of the competition is:
—
FIRST ROUND (April 11)
Kidderminster v Leamington
Ombersley v Kenilworth Wardens
Dorridge v Shifnal
