ACADEMY DUO INVOLVED IN ANOTHER THRILLING FINISH AT BUNBURY FESTIVAL

Worcestershire Academy duo, Seth Essenhigh and Fin Goodman, were involved in another thrilling finish at the ECB Bunbury Festival after making useful contributions with the bat.

Keeper-batter Essenhigh and Goodman had helped the Midlands to a one wicket win on Monday over the South-West at the National Performance Centre, Loughborough.

But the fortunes were reversed as they went down by the same margin to London and the East on Tuesday.

Essenhigh had been promoted to number three after his match winning 47 not out against South-West and he made 23 off 45 balls with three fours.

He put on 43 for the third wicket with Toby Lambert before being third out with the total on 74.

Goodman came in at 139-5 and ensured Midlands had a competitive total by batting through the remainder of the innings.

He ended unbeaten on 27 from 33 balls with two boundaries as the Midlands, who had elected to bat, totalled 202 all out from 47 overs.

London and the East were 94-5 at one stage and their last pair came together at 189-9 but they saw their side over the finishing line with Essenhigh taking one catch.
