Worcestershire Academy (Under-18s) captain Ben Clarke was amongst the wickets in his side’s three wicket win over Warwickshire in a ECB T20 County Championship Group Two fixture at Barnt Green.
Clarke came on first change in Game Two after Warwickshire chose to bat and finished with the excellent figures of 4-0-24-4.
There were several other impressive performances with Ben Clarke, who took the new ball, 4-1-13-1, Joshua Leach 4-0-15-2 and Asad Ullah Azami (4-0-17-1) all playing their part.
Warwickshire were restricted to 116-8 and Worcestershire also had to battle for runs.
Openers Louis Hursthouse (24 off 15) and Lucas Ingram (26 off 28) gave them a steady start and then Flynn Gunston chipped in with a run a ball 21.
Toby Cox (eight not out) and Joshua Leach (five not out) saw Worcestershire to victory with nine balls to spare.
In Game One Worcestershire had been bowled out for 69 in 14.2 overs after choosing to bat.
Fin Goodman hit 22 off 22 balls with four fours but opener Lucas Ingram (11) was the only other player into double figures.
Warwickshire opener and captain Yusuf Khalil’s 38 off 19 balls with seven balls effectively settled the contest although Worcestershire did pick up several late wickets.
Joshua Leach (3-0-6-2), Asad ullah Azami (2.5-1-8-2) and Ben Clarke (3-0-23-1) were the wicket-takers as Warwickshire reached 72-5 in 11.5 overs.
