WORCESTERSHIRE TRIO AGAIN MAKE THEIR MARK AT BUNBURY FESTIVAL

Worcestershire’s trio of young players again made important contributions for the Midlands who defeated the North by 129 runs in a 50 over encounter at the 2023 Bunbury Festival.

Fin Goodman, a member of the Worcestershire Emerging Players Pathway (EPP), helped lay the foundations for the Midlands total of 289-8 in 50 overs after they had elected to bat.

The opener scored a patient 40 with three fours and added 109 for the second wicket with Joshua Beer (83).

Worcestershire Academy player, keeper-batter Seth Essenhigh, then gave the innings late impetus after coming to the wicket at 228-5 in the 42nd over.

He struck 36 off just 27 balls with three boundaries.

When the North batted, another Worcestershire EPP player in Toby Cox made an instant impact with the ball.

He removed both openers including Rocky Flintoff, the son of England legend and former captain, Andrew Flintoff.

Cox returned to claim another scalp and finished with figures of 7-0-32-3 as the North were dismissed for 160 in 33.1 overs.
