SECONDS RETURN TO CHAMPIONSHIP ACTION AT STOURPORT ON SEVERN

Worcestershire Seconds will return to Championship action for the first time in almost six weeks on Monday when they take on Gloucestershire at Stourport-on-Severn.

Gareth Roderick will skipper the side after opening for Worcestershire for the first time in the drawn LV=Insurance County Championship encounter with Sussex at Hove.

Worcestershire will be looking to continue in the form in which they finished the Seconds T20 tournament.

They registered victories over Glamorgan at New Road and Warwickshire at Portland Road.

Worcestershire are giving a trial to Australian pace bowler, Ethan Carrington, who is currently playing for Solihull-Blossomfield in the Warwickshire County League.

The 21-year-old, who has a British passport, also plays grade cricket for Perth Cricket Club.

Nils Priestley and Adam Sylvester, who have already played for the Seconds this summer, are having a further trial game.

Play will get underway each day at 11am.
