CHARLOTTE EDWARDS CUP FINALS DAY: SAT 10 JUNE

The Charlotte Edwards Cup T20 Finals Day will be hosted at New Road, Worcester, on Saturday, 10 June.

12 noon: Eliminator
4pm: Final

This year the Charlotte Edwards Cup has an exciting new format which will see all eight teams play in one group. The month-long competition will conclude with an action-packed Finals Day at New Road, with the semi-final played at noon between the teams who placed second and third in the group. The semi-final winners will then play again at 4pm against the team who finished first in the group in the Charlotte Edwards Cup Final.

Worcestershire Women, Central Sparks’ and England Lions all-rounder Emily Arlott, spoke on how exciting it is for the Club to be hosting CEC Finals Day, “It’s going to be an amazing day, it’s really exciting to know that some of the best women’s cricketers from around the country will gather at New Road to showcase what they can do and compete for the coveted trophy.”

“We love playing here, and the Club always puts on a great show when we do, so I’m excited to welcome supporters down for Finals Day.”

The T20 competition kicked off on Thursday, 18 May, at the Cloud County Ground, Chelmsford, where Central Sparks got their campaign off to a successful start against Sunrisers.

All Charlotte Edwards Cup matches will be live-streamed, so you can follow along and watch the action throughout the tournament to see who will be clashing at New Road.

Worcestershire Chair Fanos Hira said, “It will be fantastic to watch the tournament and find out who will be playing here in June.

“We’re hoping Central Sparks, the team which we co-own with Warwickshire, can improve on their efforts last year and ensure the trophy doesn’t leave New Road, and it will be great to follow along with them”.

The West Midlands side will also play at Uptonsteel County Ground in a doubleheader in Leicester on 26 May. Central Sparks will play The Blaze before the Leicestershire Foxes and Birmingham Bears face off in the Vitality Blast.

Tickets include access to both fixtures on the day, and early bird tickets are available now, priced at just £1 for juniors (17 and under) and £5 for adults.
