SIX HITTING STAR ADAM WILL REMEMBER LAST OVER HEROICS FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE

Worcestershire Rapids pace bowler Adam Finch says he will remember his six-hitting blitz to seal a dramatic Vitality Blast victory over Yorkshire Vikings at New Road for the rest of his life.

Finch struck three maximums off England quick Matthew Fisher in the space of five balls to see the Rapids to victory after 19 had been required from the final over.

The first ball and fifth balls disappeared over long on and the fourth over long off to spark great celebrations and clinch a second victory in 48 hours after the triumph over Northamptonshire Steelbacks.

Finch said: “Where did that come from? I don’t really know if I’m honest. Still a little bit speechless about it.

“I’ve been working on my hitting over the last couple of years with Kadeer Ali (Assistant Head Coach) and it is something I’m trying to take more seriously, and it is nice to kind of see it materialise.

“I just try and stick to the key things that myself and Kaddy have talked about and execute it as best as I could and thankfully it happened.

“I don’t think I will ever manage to hit three in a row like that again, but really glad about it.

“With the last six, I think it was the longest period of time in my life, seeing the ball in the air and then keep going.

“It was really nice to see it land and to celebrate with Dillon (Pennington) at the end was pretty special. I’m sure I’ll remember that for the rest of my life.

Finch says the belief installed into the squad by Club Captain and Blast Captain, Brett D’Oliveira, is a crucial factor.

He said: “Brett told us at the start of the tournament ‘express yourself and play an exciting brand of cricket, and we can win from anywhere’ and I genuinely believe that.

“There is always that belief amongst the lads so there was no nervousness, no anxiety. Maybe when I walked to the middle there was!

“But when I was up there watching, there wasn’t any. A hell of a win and so really pleased for the lads.

“Hopefully we can keep momentum and keep going and it would be nice in this block of T20s to get on a real run and keep winning.”
