Taylor Cornall played an important role with ball and bat as Ombersley defeated Wolverhampton by seven wickets to win the Birmingham and District Premier League Graham Williamson Trophy.
Cornall and Jack Haynes were both available after the conclusion of Worcestershire’s LV=Insurance County Championship match with Glamorgan at Sophia Gardens the previous day.
Wolverhampton opted to bat, and Cornall came on first change and picked up two wickets with his spin during a spell of 8-0-40-2.
Former Worcestershire batter, Tom Fell, made 41 before he was third out at 109 in a total of 194-7 from 40 overs.
Cornall and Haynes then opened for Ombersley, who hosted the final and gave their side a solid start during a partnership of 73.
Haynes was first out for 33 off 47 balls with four boundaries, and then Cornall added a further 89 for the second wicket with Nick Hammond.
He was eventually dismissed for a fine 78 off 95 balls with two sixes and four fours.
Former Worcestershire Academy player Hammond went on to make 40 as Ombersley triumphed with 21 balls to spare.
It is the second time they have won the Graham Williamson Trophy, having previously lifted the trophy in 2017.
