Worcestershire Women’s Rapids will bid to retain their ECB County Cup Group Two title when they compete in Sunday’s finals day at Leek Cricket Club.
The Rapids will take on Warwickshire in the second semi-final, with the winners facing either Leicestershire or Staffordshire in the final.
A 12-strong squad has been announced by the Rapids, and all four sides taking part will be short of match practice after the entire group programme was washed out.
Worcestershire Women’s Rapids captain Chloe Hill, said: “The weather has been so frustrating, and I’ve never known the start to a cricket season like this before.
“For the players who are not involved in regional cricket, this is the highest level of cricket available.
“They are so keen to play, and all they’ve been able to do is indoor nets or, in some cases a bit of work outside.
“It’s been a shame because Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Leicestershire all won their groups in last summer’s T20 competition.
“Having all been put in the same group this year, we could have looked forward to some really competitive contests.
“But everyone is in the same situation, and we are one of the few groups where not a single match has been able to be completed.
“It will be down to whoever performs on the day, and everyone wants to try and repeat last year’s success.”
