SECONDS ANNOUNCE 12 STRONG SQUAD TO LAUNCH CHAMPIONSHIP CAMPAIGN

Worcestershire Seconds will launch their Second Eleven Championship programme when they take on Yorkshire at Bradford Park Avenue CC beginning on Monday.

Assistant Coach Richard Jones has announced a 12-strong squad which includes Henry Cullen, Rehaan Edavalath and Olly Cox, who all signed their first professional rookie contracts at the end of last season.

Pace bowler Adam Finch and spinner Josh Baker will play the first two days of the four-day encounter before linking up with the first-team squad for the LV=Insurance County Championship fixture away to Durham.

They will be replaced on days three and four by Ollie Walker, who hit 98 for the Academy against Warwickshire last week, and Harry Darley.

Pat Brown, Worcestershire’s leading wicket-taker in the 2022 Vitality Blast, will skipper the side, with Cullen and Ben Cox sharing the wicket-keeping duties.

Triallist pace bowler Adam Sylvester, who played one Championship game for Derbyshire last summer, is included in the squad.
