CULLEN LEADS WAY TO FINISH LEADING SCORER HEADING INTO FINAL GAME OF WINTER

Henry Cullen will play his last game of a highly successful winter for Plenty Valley tomorrow (Saturday) – and is currently in pole position to finish as leading run scorer in the Victoria Cricket Association competition.

The Worcestershire keeper-batter has amassed 674 runs at an average of 52.14 heading into the final round of group matches in the tournament.

It includes two centuries and four fifties and he has a strike rate of 131.9.

Cullen’s tally would have been even higher but for rain washing out a sizeable chunk of the early season fixtures.

Cullen’s nearest rival to finish as VCA leading run-getter is Coburg’s Aaron Shellie who has 638 runs.

Plenty Valley wrap up their fixtures by entertaining St. Bernard’s OC tomorrow at the Yarrambat War Memorial Park while Coburg are away to Brighton.

Cullen will then spend a few days in Australia before flying back to England on March 12 to continue preparations for the new campaign at New Road.
