RICHARDSON PRAISE FOR PERFORMANCES OF HOSE DURING FIRST TASTE OF BIG BASH LEAGUE

Worcestershire Head Coach Alan Richardson praised Adam Hose’s performances during his first season of Big Bash cricket with Adelaide Strikers.

Hose, who has signed a three-year contract with Worcestershire, was one of the top 10 run-scorers in the 2023 BBL when his involvement ended earlier this week.

He scored 312 runs at a strike rate of 127.86 and produced a string of consistent performances.

Richardson believes Hose will only have benefitted from playing with and against a host of quality players.

He said: “I think Adam has done really well, especially considering it is his first year playing in the Big Bash League.

“You’ve seen players at times struggle with it, and it is very different. The grounds tend to be much bigger, and the wickets are very different.

“Ben Dwarshuis came over here a couple of years ago to play T20 for us and said after a couple of games, ‘ these wickets are so different to what I’m used to’.

“You can imagine flipping that the other way, and I think Adam has adapted brilliantly well.

“He has been a crucial part of their side and put in some performances which helped them to win some games.

“He has been to Adelaide quite a lot and played grade cricket there, so it has been a really nice fit for him.

“Adam will come back having learnt lots. He has been surrounded by some outstanding players and played against lots of them as well.

“It has also been nice to watch him play on TV in the morning before going to work.”

The Strikers missed out on qualifying for the knockout stages despite winning their opening three matches.
