GILLESPIE PRAISE FOR CALM HEAD OF WORCESTERSHIRE BATTER ADAM HOSE IN BIG BASH LEAGUE

Worcestershire new signing, Adam Hose, has been praised by Australian legend Jason Gillespie for the “calmness” he has brought to the Adelaide Strikers during their Big Bash campaign.

Gillespie, the Strikers’ Head Coach, was delighted to secure Hose’s signature during the draft for BBL 12.

Hose, who has signed a three-year contract at New Road, has responded with a series of consistent performances.

His contributions include scores of 40 versus Sydney Sixers, 28 against Sydney Thunder, 56 not out off the Melbourne Stars attack and 38 in the win over Hobart Hurricanes.

Hose’s strike rate of 142.75 is also the highest of the front-line Strikers batters.

Former Yorkshire and Sussex Head Coach Gillespie said: “What has Hose brought to the Strikers? He brings a bit of calmness.

“He is obviously a very good player, and we identified him and wanted him when the drafts for the BBL came around.

“We were absolutely delighted that Adam was still available when it was our pick.

“He just brings a calmness there, and a lot of experience playing T20 cricket, and it works with our young group.”

Hose and the Strikers are back in action tomorrow (Tuesday) when they entertain Melbourne Renegades.

They are currently lying fifth in the eight-team table with four wins and four defeats from their opening eight games.
