KADEER ALI APPOINTED ENGLAND UNDER-19S BATTING COACH FOR AUSTRALIAN SERIES

Worcestershire Assistant Head Coach, Kadeer Ali, has been appointed England Under-19s batting coach for their forthcoming tour of Australia.

Kadeer will be the latest member of the Worcestershire coaching side to earn international recognition.

Alan Richardson, the new Head Coach at New Road, was part of the England coaching set-up for the 2021 Royal London Series versus Pakistan and the 2022 IT20 Series against the West Indies in the Caribbean.

Kadeer will join up with new England Under-19s Head Coach, Michael Yardy, and the squad for a training camp in Dubai before the series Down Under in January.

Two series between England Men’s U19 and Australia Men’s U19 have been confirmed, with the Young Lions heading to Australia early in the new year and hosting their counterparts across August and September 2023.

Kadeer said: “I’m really looking forward to working with some of the best players in the country in that Under-19s age group.

“A fair number of our coaches at Worcestershire have had some England call-ups in recent years and I think that is a really good sign.

“The fact we are getting opportunities like that will help us as coaches to develop, working with different coaches also being able to go away and experience difference coaching abroad.

“It is only going to benefit the County and we will come back with those experiences and help the Worcestershire boys.”
