COUNTY PACE BOWLER GIBBON STRIVING TO HELP WILLETTON’S BID FOR MORE SUCCESS

Ben Gibbon is aiming to help Willetton push for more success when they take on Perth in a Western Australia Cricket Association two-day encounter beginning tomorrow (Saturday).

The Worcestershire pace bowler played a leading role in Willetton reaching the quarter-finals of the WACA T20 competition with several key performances.

Now Gibbon has his sights on bolstering Willetton’s aim to qualify for the knockout stages of the WACA first grade competition.

They are currently lying in third spot with five win from seven games in a tournament which is a mixture of one-day and two-day matches.

Willeton have 43 points with only Claremont-Nedlands (54) and Midland Guildford (49) ahead of them and with the top six going through to the latter stages from the 16 teams taking part.

Henry Cullen will look to continue his good form and help Plenty Valley climb the table when they entertain Perth in a Victoria Cricket Association meeting with Perth starting tomorrow.

Worcestershire keeper-batter Cullen has scored three fifties in four knocks.

But Plenty Valley are currently lying in 12th spot in the 16 team table after one win, two draws and three defeats from their opening six games.

Cullen’s New Road team-mate, Olly Cox, will be hoping to help Eastern Suburbs CC push for victory on day two of the New South Wales first grade encounter with Gordon CC.

Cox scored a superb 116 on his debut for Eastern Suburbs last weekend in a total of 463 all out.
