Pat Brown will break new ground when he plays in the inaugural Nepal T20 League during December.
The Worcestershire pace bowler was selected in the draft by Lumbini All Stars as one of their overseas signings.
Yorkshire opener Adam Lyth, West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite and ex Sri Lanka captain Angelo Matthews are amongst those also participating.
One of Brown’s team-mates is Australian ODI and T20I player, Ben Cutting, who has played in the Big Bash League, IPL and Pakistan Super League.
Brown already has experience in franchise competitions of two spells in The Hundred, with Birmingham Phoenix and Oval Invincibles, and the Pakistan Super League with Peshawar Zalmi.
In October, he also played in the Atalanta T20 competition for Stallions CC.
Brown was Worcestershire Rapids leading wicket-taker in the 2022 Vitality Blast after his outstanding success in the 2018 and 2019 tournaments.
Six teams are taking part in the Nepal T20 League which was originally scheduled to take place in September and October but was postponed.
It will start on December 11 and end on New Year’s Eve with all matches taking place at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Stadium, Kathmandu.
The other teams taking part are Western United, Pokhara Avengers, Janakpur Royals, Kathmandu Gurkhas and Biratnagar Super Kings with the league played on a double round robin and play-off format.
Worcestershire young batter, Olly Cox, is spending the first part of the winter with the International Cricket Programme in Sydney.
Cox flew out to Australia for a 10-week spell with the ICP immediately after playing for Mardan Warriors in the Pakistan Junior League T20 competition.
He is also playing for Eastern Suburbs in the Sydney Grade Cricket competition.
The 18-year-old has been part of the Worcestershire Academy intake for the past two years and has now signed his first 12 month professional rookie contract with Worcestershire, which began on October 1.
His two and a half months Down Under will be another part of Cox’s learning curve and the ICP claims on its website “to provide aspiring and current professional cricketers from around the world with the complete cricket and life experience.
“The programme involves daily training sessions with some of the world’s best players and coaches whilst competing in Sydney’s club competition”
England duo Ollie Pope and Harry Brook and new Worcestershire signing, Matthew Waite, are amongst those to have been part of the ICP in the past.
Cox is currently training with other promising youngsters in Jacob Bethell (Warwickshire), James Rew (Somerset), Tom Prest (Hampshire) and Tawanda Muyeye (Kent).
Former Australian spinner Jason Krezja is amongst the coaches working with Cox.
Cox, who plays for Himley in the Birmingham Premier League, made his Worcestershire Seconds debut in 2021 and top-scored with 41 in the first innings of a four-day game with Leicestershire at Stourport.
He played half a dozen Second Eleven Championship and a further six Second Eleven T20 matches this summer and helped the Academy win the ECB Under-18 County Championship Group Two.
Cox then made a couple of valuable contributions as Mardan Warriors reached the knockout stages of the Pakistan Junior League before losing the Qualifier.
