TRIO OF WOMEN’S RAPIDS PLAYERS PARTICIPATE IN SCHOOL GAMES NATIONAL FINALS

Three Worcestershire Women’s Rapids players participated in the School Games National Finals held at Loughborough University.

Charis Pavely and Hannah Hardwick represented Team Sciver while Ellie Anderson was a member of the Team Brunt squad in what were effectively England Trials matches.

A total of five T20 games were played and there were some creditable performances from the Women’s Rapids trio.

Paveley hit 22 off 22 balls and bowled three overs for 17 runs and Hardwick had figures of 3-0-22-1 in Team Sciver’s two run defeat against Team Brunt.

Hardwick (3-0-18-2) and Paveley (2-0-14-1) were amongst the wickets for Team Sciver in a four wicket win over Team Knight.

There was another wicket for Hardwick (2-0-20-1) in the return meeting with Team Brunt who won by 34 runs.

Anderson had figures of 3-0-19-1, when she took the new ball, and 1-0-3-1 in the two meetings with Team Knight.

The Schools Games featured 10 sports including athletics, hockey, netball and wheelchair basketball.

Since 2006, the School Games National Finals (formerly known as the UK School Games) have provided the perfect opportunity for young athletes (Under-17s) to experience a mini-Olympics, spectate other sporting events, stay in fantastic team accommodation and competing as part of a wider team.
