Worcestershire were frustrated by the weather after forcing Glamorgan to follow on in the drawn LV=Insurance County Championship encounter at Sophia Gardens.
Ben Gibbon, with a career best 4-87, and Dillon Pennington, 4-78, were largely responsible for dismissing Glamorgan for 295.
Worcestershire Club Captain, Brett D’Oliveira, asked the home side to bat again but only nine balls were possible before rain started to fall with Glamorgan 5-0 from 1.3 overs.
The game was eventually abandoned at 1.50pm and it was a frustrating conclusion for Worcestershire who dominated proceedings for long periods of the game.
Gareth Roderick hit a career best 172 not out and fully justified the decision to promote him up the order to number five while Ed Barnard (75) and Joe Leach (87) provided sterling support with the bat.
After a below-par session on the Tuesday evening, the Worcestershire attack then bowled superbly yesterday to take six Glamorgan wickets for 130 in the 49.4 overs possible before wrapping up the innings today.
Gibbon surpassed his previous best of 4-127 against Durham at the Seat Unique Riverside in what is his fourth Championship match in his first season of professional cricket and he continues to show great promise.
Pennington maintained the good form and rhythm he has shown in recent red ball performances as he took his wicket tally in Championship cricket to 32 this summer.
Worcestershire had to be content with 14 points from the game, eight for a draw, three for batting and three for bowling.
Glamorgan resumed on 241-8 and, with the over rate showing ‘-1’ on the scoreboard, Worcestershire used the spin of Club Captain, Brett D’Oliveira, and Jake Libby up until the new ball was due after 80 overs 259-8.
The new ball brought an instant reward when Ajaz Patel (10) drove at Gibbon and fell to a fine catch by Cox diving in front of first slip.
Chris Cooke complete a half century before Pennington wrapped up the innings as Michael Hogan (12) hit a low full toss to Jack Haynes who produced another good catch at short mid wicket.
Cooke remained undefeated on 51 from 97 balls and Gibbon ended with figures of 22-3-87-4, Pennington 22.3-3-78-4, Joe Leach 19-2-63-1, Ed Barnard 16-3-45-1, D’Oliveira 4-1-9-0 and Libby 2-0-10-0.
But, when Glamorgan followed on, only one over from Leach and three balls from Pennington were possible before play was halted.
*Worcestershire Seconds also suffered more weather frustration as their Championship match with Lancashire at Kidderminster was abandoned with no play possible after the first day.
More heavy rain this morning led to the inevitable decision by the umpires to call the game off at 9am.
Worcestershire had to be content with nine points from the game, eight for the draw and one batting bonus point after reaching 235-7 on day one with Henry Cullen unbeaten on a Championship best 81.
