TONGUE CONTINUES COMEBACK FOR SECONDS IN CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH AT KIDDERMINSTER

Josh Tongue will continue his comeback from a shoulder injury when he plays for Worcestershire Seconds in the Second Eleven Championship match with Lancashire at Kidderminster beginning on Monday.

The pace bowler featured in two games in the Royal London Cup and impressed for the Seconds in last week’s SEC innings victory over Gloucestershire at Rockhampton.

Tongue produced a burst of five wickets in 5.3 overs at one stage of the game.

Rehaan Edavalath will be looking to maintain his impressive form after scoring a double hundred for the Academy and 164 at Rockhampton.

The trio of Henry Cullen, Reeve Evitts and Olly Davidson, who made their first team debuts in the Royal London Cup, are also set to play.

The squad has yet to be finalised but the two players not selected in the 13 strong squad for the LV=Insurance Championship match against Glamorgan at Sophia Gardens are expected to join up with the Seconds.

Worcestershire have won three, drawn three and lost two of their eight SEC matches so far this season.

Kevin Sharp and Andy Sutton will oversee the Seconds this week as Seconds Coach Kadeer Ali has joined the coaching group in Cardiff.
