EVITTS AND PARKER NAMED IN ECB XI TO FACE SRI LANKA UNDER-19S

Worcestershire Academy duo, Reeve Evitts and Ben Parker, have been selected to play for an ECB Invitational XI against Sri Lanka Under-19s at Loughborough from August 16 to 18.

The three-day fixture will form part of preparations for the forthcoming two-game Test series between England Under-19s and Sri Lanka Under-19s.

All-rounder Evitts made his senior debut for Worcestershire in last week’s Royal London Cup encounter with Lancashire Lightning at Emirates Old Trafford after signing a short term professional rookie contract.

Pace bowler Parker was part of the RLC squad for the 2021 competition and has recently returned to action from injury.

Meanwhile, Worcestershire Academy will be bidding for a third successive win in the ECB Under-18 County Championship Group Two when they take on Gloucestershire at Stourbridge in a three-day encounter starting tomorrow (Tuesday).

Worcestershire won their opening two games against Northamptonshire at Kidderminster and Wales at Abergavenny and collected a maximum haul of 48 points.

They will be without the likes of Henry Cullen and Olly Davidson, part of the current first team squad, in addition to Evitts and Parker.

Ismael Mohammed will lead the side with Luke Powell keeping wicket.
