PATHWAY PLAYER ANGUS CATTO SCORES UNBEATEN CENTURY FOR UNDER-18S

Angus Catto scored a century for Worcestershire Academy (Under-18s) on the opening day of a two-day fixture with Shropshire at Worfield CC.

Catto, a member of the Worcestershire CCC Pathway, struck three sixes and 14 fours in making 109 not out from 110 balls.

He put on 92 for the fourth wicket with Imaad Mahmood (64) and an unbroken 103 with Lewis Franklin (20 not out).

Ajay Shingadia (25) and Joel Cox (38) had laid solid foundations during an opening stand of 58.

Worcestershire declared on 300-4 from 60 overs) and then Safian Mir picked up two wickets as Shropshire slipped to 81-4.

Catto then broke a partnership of 105 between Theo Truss (63) and Charlie Ward who ended unbeaten on 65.

Shropshire closed the day on 222-5 from 44 overs, still 78 in arrears.

Mir ended with figures of 7-0-47-2, Drew Malek 7-2-25-1, Mahmood 6-0-38-1 and Catto 3-0-12-1.
