WOMEN’S RAPIDS BIDDING FOR MORE GLORY IN WEST MIDLANDS CUP

Worcestershire Women’s Rapids will launch their bid for more trophy glory this weekend in the West Midlands Cup.

The Rapids won the ECB T20 County Cup Group Two tournament after triumphing in seven of their eight matches.

Captain Chloe Hill is looking forward to a return to action in the 50-over competition with the Rapids taking on Staffordshire at Halesowen CC on Sunday (11am start).

She said: “Quite a few of us have been away with our regions for the 50 over competition, and I am pretty excited to be getting back out there in a Worcestershire shirt and hopefully leading them to more victories.

“It was an excellent performance to win the T20 competition, and the girls will have plenty of confidence.

“It’s really good that the regions have recognised that we need to be playing a 50 over competition which is competitive and make it a format everyone loves to play.

“We won’t have Emily Arlott and Ami Campbell out of the T20 squad but will still have people like Clare Boycott, Milly Home, myself.

“Georgia Macey is not available this weekend but will be for the other weekends. Ellie Anderson has been picking up wickets for fun which is really good to see
