Worcestershire Seconds will be looking to bounce back from a challenging second day in the Second Eleven Championship match with Leicestershire at Barnt Green.
They will resume on Wednesday morning on 107-3 from 32 overs in reply to Leicestershire’s 614-7 declared with triallist Jordan Neil unbeaten on 26 and Joe Leach 14 not out.
Leicestershire began the day on 338-4 and Worcestershire Captain, Pat Brown, made an early breakthrough when trapping Nathan Bowley (22) lbw.
Brown was involved in the next dismissal as well, with his throw from extra cover to keeper Henry Cullen leading to Ed Barnes being run out for 46.
There was a long wait for the next breakthrough with Roman Walker and Scott Steel adding 209 for the seventh wicket.
Jacques Banton broke the stand when Steel on 103 was caught by Mitchell Stanley at long on to leave Walker undefeated on 118.
Brown ended with figures of 14-4-52-2, Banton 41-4-174-2, Ari Karvelas 22-7-44-1 and Cameron Jones 18-4-66-1.
A total of 10 bowlers were used, including substitute Gohar Nisar who replaced the injured Reeve Evitts in the Worcestershire side.
When Worcestershire batted, Ismail Mohammed (10) was bowled by Barnes who then trapped Tom Fell (27) lbw.
Banton (20) was also leg before, to former Worcestershire Pathway spinner, Freddie Fallows.
