Worcestershire opening batter, Taylor Cornall, has signed a one-year contract extension until the end of the 2023 season.
The 23-year-old put pen to paper on a one-year deal when he joined Worcestershire last autumn after a successful trial period for the Seconds.
This has now been extended by a further 12 months after a promising start by Cornall to his New Road career.
The left-hander began 2022 with 84 against Oxford UCCE in The Parks and has scored three centuries this summer in red ball cricket for the Seconds, including two hundreds in the same Championship game against Glamorgan.
He showed his durability and determination to occupy the crease by batting for more than 12 hours at Newport.
Cornall, who made two Royal London Cup appearances for Lancashire last summer, has also contributed two half-centuries for the Seconds in their SET20 campaign.
Worcestershire Cricket Steering Group Chairman, Paul Pridgeon, confirmed: “We have extended Taylor Cornall’s contract for another 12 months.
“He applied himself well in adapting to his first full winter as a professional cricketer and has scored a shed full of runs for the Seconds this summer.
“Like Ben Gibbon, Taylor has come into the pro game through a less conventional way than the Academy route, but both have taken their chance.
“Ben has played a couple of Championship games already and did well when picked for the County Select X1 against New Zealand, and Taylor is doing all he can to knock on the door of the first team.”
