Worcestershire Women’s Rapids have won the ECB County T20 Group Two competition after triumphing in the finals day at Falkland CC in Berkshire.
The Rapids advanced to the final after overwhelming Shropshire Women by 124 runs in the semi-finals.
They then defeated Staffordshire by 18 runs to win the final.
The Rapids fully deserved their finals day success after topping the group by winning seven of their eight matches.
It was an excellent team effort, but there were some outstanding individual performances.
Ami Campbell scored 70 not out against Shropshire and then 80 against Staffordshire.
Georgina Macey continued her top-notch form throughout the tournament with another half-century against Shropshire.
In the same game, England spinner, Sarah Glenn, was in devastating form with the ball with a five-wicket haul.
Clare Boycott, who last week celebrated her 200th appearance for Worcestershire, and Ellie Anderson shone with the ball in the final.
In the semi-final, after a quickfire 24 from Milly Home, a superb second-wicket stand of 141 from 14 overs by Macey and Campbell powered the Rapids towards a total of 216-3 after being put in to bat.
Macey completed her third half-century of the T20 campaign and went on to make 70 from 54 balls with ten boundaries.
The on-loan Campbell ended unbeaten on 70 from 47 deliveries with one six and nine fours.
Glenn then destroyed the Shropshire batting line-up.
Three of her victims were lbw, and two bowled as she ended with the outstanding figures of 4-1-15-5,
Anderson had picked up an early wicket and finished with 2-20, while Clare Boycott bowled a tight spell of 4-0-15-1 as Shropshire closed on 92-8.
Staffordshire made sure of their place in the final after defeating Berkshire.
The Rapids chose to bat in the final, and Campbell was again in superb form in making 80 off 47 balls with three sixes and ten fours.
She joined forces with Emily Arlott after the Rapids had lost three wickets for 14 runs.
They added 74 for the fourth wicket before Arlott, 45 off 39 balls with nine fours, was dismissed.
Campbell was eventually seventh out with the total on 153, and the Rapids went on total 168-7.
When Staffordshire batted, Anderson again made an early strike with the fifth delivery of the innings.
Then Boycott took centre stage with the ball with a three-wicket burst as Staffordshire fell further behind the clock.
Despite some spirited late hitting, two wickets in the 19th over from Anderson (3-20) sealed a deserved victory for the Rapids.
