Three Worcestershire players are participating in the Lord’s Taverners Runs And Wickets for Change campaign this summer to help empower young people with disabilities and from disadvantaged communities.
Jake Libby, Ben Cox and Joe Leach will be helping the Charity raise money for this campaign with every run they score or wicket they take during the 2022 season.
The signs are encouraging as Libby has been the second highest run scorer in first class cricket for the past two seasons while in 2021 Leach ended as Worcestershire’s leading wicket-taker for the fifth time in seven full seasons.
Worcestershire members and supporters can play their part by sponsoring each run scored or every wicket taken for as little, or as much as you like.
You can also cap the maximum amount you’d like to donate, while also choosing whether you donate for a single match, month or year.
All funds raised will go towards the Lord’s Taverners charity cricket programmes delivered in conjunction with the Worcestershire Cricket Board.
They support some of the most marginalised and at risk young people in the county facing the challenges of inequality.
Using cricket as a tool to engage young people, the Super 1s, Table Cricket and Wicketz programmes aim to make the game as inclusive as possible, build links between communities and help young people learn vital life skills.
