EARLY FIREWORKS FROM MOEEN BEFORE BRAVO BECOMES IPL LEADING WICKET-TAKER

Worcestershire Rapids 2022 overseas signing, Dwayne Bravo, became the leading wicket-taker in IPL history after a quickfire knock from Moeen Ali but the pair finished on the losing side for Chennai Super Kings.

Bravo collected his 171st IPL scalp when he dismissed Lucknow Super Giants number five batter, Deepak Hooda, to give him one more than Lasith Malinga.

He was one of his side’s most economical bowlers in delivering his four overs for 35 runs.

But Bravo’s efforts were to no avail and the reigning champions total of 210-7 was overhauled with three balls to spare as Lucknow completed a six wicket win.

Earlier, Rapids Vitality Blast captain Moeen had launched his first appearance of this year’s tournament with 35 from just 22 balls.

He came in at number three and put on 56 in just five overs with Robin Uthappa.

Moeen struck his first six off Avesh Khan with a swivel shot over fine leg and then swept Krunal Pandya over the deep square leg boundary.

He was eventually bowled by Avesh Khan attempting to find the short legside boundary and was third out at 106 in the 11thover.

The Super Kings total looked imposing but Moeen warned during an interval interview of the dangers of the Lucknow batting line-up and he was proved right.
