PENNINGTON BACK FROM AUSTRALIA AND DETERMINED TO PERFORM ON CONSISTENT BASIS

Dillon Pennington is determined to produce his best form consistently for Worcestershire this summer and repay the faith shown in him by the club.

The fast bowler is back from playing two months of grade cricket for Adelaide CC and believes the time is right for him to kick on with his career.

He wants to transfer his potential into significant contributions for Worcestershire week in and week out.

Pennington has now chalked up 25 first class appearances since making his debut against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge four years ago.

The 23-year-old demonstrated what he is capable of with his first five-wicket haul during last summer’s win over Derbyshire at New Road and match figures of 9-76.

Pennington wants to repeat that form more often in 2022 and is optimistic about it being a successful year for the County.

He said: “On a personal level, it is about just trying to be as consistent as I can for this club and performing week in and week out, not one week and then not the next.

“I want to string those performances together, and I think that is my main aim this year, just to keep working at that.

“Is it the right time to kick on with the next phase of my career? I think so. The club has given me a lot in the last four or five years that I’ve played.

“It is time I started to repay them in stringing those performances together and helping the club.
