Worcestershire Women’s Rapids captain Chloe Hill has given her backing to today’s International Women’s Day’s #BreakTheBias theme.
The statement on the International Women’s Day official website reads: “Imagine a gender-equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive.
“A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women’s equality, and collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.
“Celebrate women’s achievement. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality.”
Hill said: “International Women’s Day is a day where every single women’s sport gets recognised positively.
“There are no negative comments. When it is a day dedicated to professional women, you’ve got to feel proud.
“When you have got a men’s and a women’s team in a sport, why not give that women’s team support on social media?”
On the same theme, Hill is delighted with the growing interest in women’s cricket at all levels.
She said: “The Hundred was a great success last summer, and then you’ve got the World Cup starting soon.
“There is loads of women’s cricket on the TV, which is really positive.”
