GIDMAN PRAISE FOR “INTEGRAL PART” PLAYED BY KADEER ALI AT NEW ROAD

Worcestershire CCC Head Coach Alex Gidman has praised the contribution of Kadeer Ali in becoming “an integral part of what we are trying to achieve here.”

Kadeer, a former Worcestershire player, returned to New Road as Second Eleven Coach in November 2019.

But he has also spent considerable time working with the senior squad.
Last summer, Kadeer and Assistant Coach-Bowling Coach Alan Richardson oversaw the Royal London Cup campaign when Gidman was on duty as a coach with Birmingham Phoenix during The Hundred.

Gidman, who played alongside Kadeer at Gloucestershire, said: “He has become a very integral part of what we are trying to do here.

“Kadeer is a very knowledgeable coach.

“He spent a lot of time with the Academy systems, so his experience is actually really big when it comes to the volume he has had and the amounts of different experiences he’s had with different types of cricketers.

“He’s brought a lot to the group. With the Second Team lead role, he covers a lot of bases and does them all very well.

“Kadeer has done extremely well, and we are really pleased to have him with us.

“As coaches, you learn so much, in particular doing your badges, and then anything extra you do away from cricket, whether it’s university courses or whatever.

“I know Kadeer is making sure he is putting all his learnings now into trying to make our cricketers better, which is what is really important now.”
