PENNINGTON HEADING BACK TO NEW ROAD AFTER SUCCESSFUL SPELL DOWN UNDER

Worcestershire fast bowler Dillon Pennington is heading back to New Road following a successful spell with Adelaide CC during the past two months.

Pennington is scheduled to arrive back in England on Tuesday to continue his preparations with Worcestershire for the new domestic season.

He produced a series of consistent performances for Adelaide in the South Australia Cricket Association Premier Cricket first grade competition in one and two-day matches.

Pennington played six games and ended with a haul of 13 wickets at an impressive average of 19.85.

His best return was 3-4 against Northern Districts.

Pennington picked up two wickets in each of his other five appearances and often made important breakthroughs with the new ball.

His overall final figures for Adelaide were 61-8-258-13-19.85, with a strike rate of 28.15 and an economy rate of 4.23.

Pennington was also able to get in some invaluable warm-weather training.

Worcestershire batsman, Jack Haynes, scored 21 for Green Point CC in a Western Province Premier Division encounter with UWC.

He will return to New Road during the early part of March.
