Former Worcestershire County Cricket Club player, Chairman and Club President John Elliot, has been celebrating his 80th birthday this week.
He made 10 First Class appearances for the Club between 1959 and 1965 and would go on to be President and Chairman at New Road.
He served as president for 2 years and chairman for 8 years. During this time, he oversaw the signing of Glenn McGrath, Andy Bichel, Moeen Ali, Zaheer Khan and Gareth Batty.
Elliot was presented with a cake at the Club’s Vice-President’s Lunch by new Club Captain, Brett D’Oliveira.
